SMASH! – the Sydney Manga and Anime SHow is a convention happening every year in Sydney, and its goal is to celebrate the culture of Anime, Manga, Video games, and Cosplay. Saturday, August 10th 2013 at 9am the Sydney Exhibition Center Darling Harbour opened its doors for over 7000 pop culture fans from around Australia and even overseas. Aside from big companies like Madman and KingsComics smaller circles and clubs were given stalls to sell their own merchandise; Anime@UTS was no exception. We had badges, post cards, phone charms, even panda hats.
My good friend Tac (@Taccarin) put together a video highlighting the most memorable parts.
All I can say is, this was one of the best nights of 2012!
I made this as a music monday a few weeks ago. Copy pasta from the Anime@UTS website.
Hello and welcome to the first thrilling episode of Music Monday with your host JamieJakov.

Yesterday, 29th of September was the day of the UTS Anime clubs Annual General Meeting. There we discussed the events of this year and plans for the future. But the main event was the election of the new executive team.
First of we thanked the 2011-12 execs for all their hard work. And then we proceeded to elect the new team.
I wanted to go for two positions: Events manager and Screenings coordinator, and so I did. However apparently one person can only have one position, so therefore during the events coordinator elections, I was shot down. But then I was nominated for screenings director by everyone and everyone seconded it and so thats how everyone elected me as screenings director /shock XD
Overall the whole exec team changed (except for Mr. Prez and Kiri). We will make this year even more fun!

Today me and my friends from Anime@UTS went to see the cherry blossom in Auburn botanical gardens.
Because of all this talk about Pokemon in the Anime@UTS club lately, I fell into nostalgia mode and decided to replay some of the classics.
In order to do that though, one either need a Game Boy / Color / Advanced / Nintendo DS. In my case I have a Game Boy Advanced, however i do not posses any of the Pokemon games…. sadface.jpg
So what does an IT guy do in this case, one thing! find an emulator. And I was successful. Now I can play any Game Boy games on my iTaiga (MacBook Air) or iKonata (Mac Mini). 1 ROM is usually 1-20MB and they provide infinite enjoyment!
