This year I have officially become an adult (in every country); I turned 21! Every year up until now I got to spend this special day with my 2 most special people – my mommy and my daddy, but this year we did not get the chance to meet up to celebrate it together, but nevertheless I had a great day with my friends – yay!
Back in 2011 I wrote a review of Steins;Gate, a series that I really enjoyed watching and gave it a 10 straight away and I even said that it was the best time travel story told in anime. Now, 2 years later, 7 months after the movie came out in cinemas I ordered the Blu-Ray and today we had a screening with the anime clubs of UTS, USyd and UNSW. It was a grand event, around 50 people showed up to watch this awesome movie. Anyway to the review.
**** CAUTION SPOILERS AHEAD ****
Remember in August I blogged that I got Porco Rosso? Well today my shipment of two more glorious Blu-Rays have arrived. This time its my second favorite Ghibli movie – Princess Mononoke and The Cat Returns. This was a present to myself for Christmas and New Years, and also for finishing last semester with good grades.
They have been added to my collection and will be re-watched in due time. As mentioned before, if you want to get me a nice present for my birthday (which I might add is coming up soon), you can always order one of the Ghibli Blu-Rays which I don’t have (these 2 + the 5 in the last post is all I got).
З.Ы. This is also my first post of 2014! What a great way to start of my blogging life this year.
I am collecting the Blu-rays for the Studio Ghibli movies. I love the studio and most of their movies, so I have set out to collect all of their BluRays! I mentioned in a post before as to how I started my collection, and now when Porco Rosso arrived I can blog about how my collection has grown.
Kiki was given to my for my birthday in February by my good friends from the anime club and Porco Rosso I ordered myself, because it is my second favorite movie out of all the Ghiblies, so I had to have it! Lets see how long it will take for me to finish my collection.
When I was in Japan in July of 2012, my friend Kosuke and I went to Tokyo for a few days (I blogged about it). We also visited the Ghibli museum in Mitaka. It was an awesome experience, but there is one thing I really regret not doing there. In the gift shop there were Soundtrack CDs (OSTs), DVDs and most importantly the new Ghibli collection BluRays! They were 7140円 a piece, which at the time I deemed to be too expensive for a BluRay at the time. But when I came back to Sydney, I realized that I seriously wanted them. Thats how I started my collection. First I got Nausicaa, then my amazing friend Frank gave me Totoro for Christmas and Laputa for my Birthday! It will take me a while to get all of the Ghibli BluRays, but I accomplish this goal I have set for myself. If anyone is interested, I order them from this website: cdjapan.co.jp
Well aparently the Blu-ray version of the awesome anime Durarara is out for purchase in Japan.
Time to get my hands on the high quality version of one of my favorite anime!
And to my friends: have fun rewatching!
