Stand in ALL the lines, buy ALL the things!

iPhone_GTA

This has been a very expensive week for me, but I can honestly say that it was worth it! GTA V, iPhone 5s and the Bower & Willkins P3 headphones are all mine, and I sure as hell am enjoying all of them. I’ll talk about my purchases in chronological order, so first up I would like to start with one of the best games (and definitely the most anticipated) of the year –

GTA V

The game was set out to come out at exactly 12am on the 17th of September. Naturally I preordered it, but then I also decided to go to the store at like 11:30pm to wait for the midnight release and pick it up straight away to get some gaming time before going to bed. I can say one thing, good thing I came 30 minutes early! I managed to get a spot at the front of the line (8th or 10th) thereby getting the game right away at 12 and heading home. The game cost $89 (which is the normal price for the standard edition of any console game in Australia).

Cherry Blossom Picnic Again

cherryBlossom2013

1 year ago my close friends Cindy and Sashin organized an event to see the cherry blossoms in Auburn (and I blogged about it). It was amazing, even though we were a bit late and most of the flowers have already finished blooming and had fallen, but we had lots of fun nevertheless. Well this year was even better!

CHU-CHU-RUUU!!

ThomasSydney

So it seems that Thomas the Tank Engine is in Sydney Central station. My good friend Clara, blogged about it and she even had a video of the opening theme. Since we didn’t really have this show on TV when I was a kid, or maybe we did I just haven’t seen it, I can’t relate that well to my friends who are nostalgic about this. I do however know the story and premise.

So why make this post? Well, after listening to the OP again, it reminded me of a certain YouTube video. If you have seen the anime Steins;Gate then you would know that in ep 16 or so (maybe earlier, I don’t really remember) Mayushii and Okabe are in the subway at Akiba and then ……

SMASH 2013

SMASH! – the Sydney Manga and Anime SHow is a convention happening every year in Sydney, and its goal is to celebrate the culture of Anime, Manga, Video games, and Cosplay. Saturday, August 10th 2013 at 9am the Sydney Exhibition Center Darling Harbour opened its doors for over 7000 pop culture fans from around Australia and even overseas. Aside from big companies like Madman and KingsComics smaller circles and clubs were given stalls to sell their own merchandise; Anime@UTS was no exception. We had badges, post cards, phone charms, even panda hats.

Our new Samsung 46F8500 TV

July 4th, 2013

SamsungTV_FREE

When I arrived back home and set foot in my house again after 3 years of being abroad, I could not help but notice the 12 year old TV in our living room. It was a Sony Trinitron and looked something like this, I dont have a picture of ours and we already gave it away. とにかく、it was old and outdated, a serious upgrade was required. Thankfully my dad was on my side on this one and so we set out to buy a new TV, yay!

Vivid Sydney

Vivid Sydney

So on the 5th of June, Saya accompanied me to go look at the Vivid light show in Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.

This is the third time I’ve visited the festival, and wow I can say it amazes me how many different colours and designs and animations they can make and project onto the buildings. What can I say it looks amazing.

Visiting the capital

June 13th, 2013

I have been living in Australia for almost 3 years now, but I have never been to the capital! *shock* So I decided that now, right before exams, would be the perfect time to go visit this small city. And what fun is it to go alone… So of course I went there together with my girlfriend at the time – Saya.
