Steins;Gate Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu Review

Steins Gate Movie

Back in 2011 I wrote a review of Steins;Gate, a series that I really enjoyed watching and gave it a 10 straight away and I even said that it was the best time travel story told in anime. Now, 2 years later, 7 months after the movie came out in cinemas I ordered the Blu-Ray and today we had a screening with the anime clubs of UTS, USyd and UNSW. It was a grand event, around 50 people showed up to watch this awesome movie. Anyway to the review.

Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko Figure

October 15th, 2013

TsukikoMeet the newest member of my figure collection – Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko from the show 変態王子と笑わない猫. She is a cute little girl who wished to lose all of her emotions so that she wouldn’t appear childish to her friends. Even though throughout the series she barely shows any signs of happiness or sadness, we can still see when she is angry or shy. They portray Tsukiko as a cat because the cat god was the one who fulfilled her wish and also because cats are a general symbol of cuteness in Japan, and Tsukiko is too damn cute!

When the show was coming out in April 2013 I immediately knew that it would be popular as it has cute girls and a hentai protagonist who both the girls are in love with. The formula for a successful anime: cute girls + sexy scenes = profit. Thats is what sells in Japan and we can not do anything about it. But hey, I preordered this figure from AmiAmi and it cost me about $40, but I regret nothing! 2 hours of work for this beautiful thing is totally worth it.

Anyway, I have more pictures of her on my:

Each of their shows is filled with character development, engaging dialogue, thought provoking themes, deep plot, intelligent humor, symbolism (meanwhile at shaft).

This seasons Monogatari series second season is no exception. If you guys remember Bakemonogatari – Nadeko Snake ark and the ever so famous OP – Renai Circulation, then you will be pleased to hear the in this seasons monogatari Nadeko has her own ark and a new OP to match it!

Happy 6th Birthday Miku!

August 31st, 2013

Hatsune.Miku.full.270039

Happy birthday to my favorite virtual idol Hatsune Miku! You were born exactly 6 years ago, but for all of us you will forever be 16 years old ^_^
You can also read the congratulations from my friends Ruben and Clara on their blogs.

On a side note, there has been news recently of the new english voice bank for Miku in Vocaloid V3. Its sounds rather good, still feels a bit weird to hear Miku speak english though.

To learn more about it you can go to the Vocaliod Wiki, or listen to a song on YouTube.

Aside from big companies like Madman and KingsComics smaller circles and clubs were given stalls to sell their own merchandise; Anime@UTS was no exception. We had badges, post cards, phone charms, even panda hats.

Ghbilbi BD Collection

I am collecting the Blu-rays for the Studio Ghibli movies. I love the studio and most of their movies, so I have set out to collect all of their BluRays! I mentioned in a post before as to how I started my collection, and now when Porco Rosso arrived I can blog about how my collection has grown.

Kiki was given to my for my birthday in February by my good friends from the anime club and Porco Rosso I ordered myself, because it is my second favorite movie out of all the Ghiblies, so I had to have it! Lets see how long it will take for me to finish my collection.

WataMote Anime

There was this one manga which wasn’t really that popular in good old Japan, but then everything changed when the gaijin attached! The guys from 4chans /a/ just fell in love with this manga. People started buying multiple copies and thus dramatically improving its sales. It got so popular that they even started printing that its a huge hit on the western 2chan on the cover of it (as can be seen on the picture below). And this manga is of course Watashi ga Motenai no wa dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! or Wata Mote for short.
