As the spring season of 2014 comes to a close, I would like to take some time and write about one of the (I would like to say best, but I can’t) coolest anime of the season – Mekakucity Actors. Usually anime is based on manga, light novels, games, or is original story, but not Mekakucity (it was but not entirely), this anime was based of a series of Voclaloid songs called Kagerou Project (SPOILERS for the series, watch at own risk) made by Jin and posted on NicoNicoDouga. Though the original songs were adapted into a series of light novels and a manga, the story of the anime, same as the LN and mange took a turn in its own direction in places, showing of things that you could not see in the other media.

留学生に図書カードなど贈呈 – NHK鹿児島

鹿児島への理解を深めてもらおうと、鹿児島市に住む外国人留学生に図書カードと市内の路面電車などが利用できる乗車カードが贈られました。

鹿児島市は、市内に住みながら大学や専門学校などで学んでいる留学生を対象に、毎年、図書カードと市内の路面電車やバス、それに桜島フェリーが利用できる乗車カードを贈っています。

今年度は３５６人に図書カード５万円分と共通乗車カード１万円分が贈られることになり、鹿児島市役所で贈呈式が行われました。

式では、松木園富雄副市長から鹿児島大学や第一工業大学など７つの学校の留学生の代表１人ずつにカードが贈られ、松木園副市長は「このカードを十分活用して、鹿児島の歴史や文化にたくさん触れてほしい」と激励の言葉を贈りました。

鹿児島大学でプログラミングを学ぶラトビア出身の２１歳の男性は、「プレゼントしてもらえるのはとてもありがたいので図書カードを使って日本語の勉強ができる本を買いたい」と話していました。

また、県立短期大学で英文学を学んでいるフィンランド出身の女性は、「この共通乗車カードを使って鹿児島のいろんなところを散策したい」と話していました。

It seems like I am only talking about music these days eh? I am just busy working on/learning how to create something awesome. This is the newest song by one of my favorite J-Pop idols: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Its called Kira Kira Killer, but its not about death, its about being struck with new ideas and about creativity.

PSY & Snoop Dogg – Hangover

So PSY has just released a new song called Hangover and as you can expect its about drinking. Its even more crazy then Gangnam Style and Gentlemen and it has Snoop Dogg! So far its up to 3 million views in just half a day, lets see what happens when the rest of the world wakes up!

Tips on Kagoshima 上

So I’ve been in Kagoshima for a month and a half now, so I believe that I can give some tips for my kouhais, future UTS students coming to Kagoshima for exchange. I also really envy my kouhais, cause I will make sure they get almost everything that I have bought here, as I won’t be taking this stuff back to Australia, with the exception of my monitor and rice cooker.

South Park The Stick of Truth

They announced it at E3 2012, they showed a glimpse of it at EB Expo 2012, and now, almost 1 and a half year later, it is out! And wow what a game it is! So South Park The Stick of Truth is an RPG where you play as the new kid in town who just arrived and is trying to make friends with the local boys (and girls). During his adventures, sir Douchebag (thats the name you are given) must help the human kingdom, led by the Grand Wisard Cartman, take back from the Elves, led by Hight Elf Kyle, the ancient relic of immense power – the Stick of Truth.
