Day 15 – Mandatory swimsuit post

I love swimming! I have been swimming since I was 11 months old. And to this day I visit the pool at minimum one a week. To me swimsuits are a representation of ones desire to embrace the refreshing pool/ocean water, and enjoy the freedom of the infinite depths. Thats is why, what better anime to represent freedom, then FREE!

Enjoy the pretty swimming boys and their original animation.

Anime Day 14

ouran

Day 14 – Anime you’ve rewatched the most

I dont re-watch anime . I think it is a waste of time to sit there are watch the same thing over again, when you have seen it once already. I might re-watch a particular screen, or at max an episode, but not the whole series. Or maybe if a friend really wants to watch something together I might sit with them though a few eps.

So the only show that I have truly re-watched on my own will, was Ouran High School Host Club. I originally watched it on YouTube with English dub, but then at like ep 20, they stopped, and I had to finish it in Japanese with subs. That was in like 2008. Then, when I got to Sydney and had a lot of free time on my hands, I decided that it was time to re-watch this great show. So I did. Nothing will even beat the original voice acting.

Danish Koukousei No Nichijou

Day 13 – Favorite anime attending high school

Thats pretty much all anime out there. Junior high, high school and even university, thats the general setting for a large number of anime out there. Picking one out of such a large pool would be very hard, but I’d say that that Nichibros (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou).

Have you ever thought what ever happens in those all boys schools? Well Nichibros will show you all the crazy stuff that teens are up to. This show is witty, has great art and is very easy to digest (watch). Would highly recommend to anyone who just wants a chill show to watch with friends.

Anime Day 12

Gurren Lagann

Day 12 – Favorite mecha series

I am not that big of a fan of mecha anime. I haven’t seen any of the Gundam or Macross series. I don’t really watch anything that has giant robots in it, just not my thing. Aside from a few classics of course… Like Gurren Lagann. This marvel made by Studio Gainax (now these people are in Trigger). The show itself is based in a post apocalyptic world, where humans are hiding underground from the alien overlords with giant robots. Until one day, this boy – Simon with his bro Kamina decide to put and end to it. Well lets say they did a bit more than that… Robots the size of the galaxy, what is this…

The anime is fast paced, has great animations, memorable characters and an amazing OST. What is there not to love? If you don’t believe me, go watch it now!

Holo

Day 11 – Post a cute neko-girl

Well Holo isn’t really a cat girl, but is definitely my furry fantasy. Holo, the wolf goddess of the anime Spice and Wolf and in my opinion, one of the cutest animal girls out there. Her ears are so pointy, her tail is so lush; she is just adorable.

Anime Day 10

Bakemonogatari

Day 10 – Current (or most recent) anime wallpaper

This is another easy question to answer. I love the Monogatari Series, one of the main reasons for that is due to its unique art style. And nowhere it is more evident then in the original ending theme. The above image can be seen at the end of the ED for Bakemongatari and it is gorgeous. I love the light background colours contrast with the dark buildings, and how the numerous shapes outline the architecture. Another point about this background is that it is a vector! Thats right, my good friend Mad spent countless hours tracing the original image to turn this into a beautiful vector wallpaper, that would be great for my 5K retina iMac. And ever since the day he created it about 6 months ago, it has been on my primary desktop.

I am the type of person, who doesn’t change wallpapers often, as I see no real reason to change if it suites my needs and feelings. I think I will keep this Bakemonogatari wallpaper for at least a year or more.

Anime Day 9

Nichijou

Day 9 – Favorite slice of life anime

Well this is an easy one. What better candidate then an anime literally named: Daily Life – Nichijou. Based of a 4 coma manga, all 24 episodes are broken up in small gags with pretty much no connection, or relation. And thats what makes Nichijou amazing! Its hilarious, you can watch any episode in any order, and you are always guaranteed a good laugh. Also the art style is rather unique, which to me is very important, as it makes Nichijou stand out from the normal crowd.

Anime Day 8

Acchi Kocchi

Day 8 – Anime you remember most fondly

Of course the answer to this question would be a slice of life anime. Slice of life anime are very fuwafuwa (fluffy) and light hearted. Some are funny, other make you tear up, but Acchi Kocchi makes you go awwwwwwwww. Based on a 4 coma manga, each episode of Acchi Kocchi presents us with a number of gags, misunderstandings, and just silly moments in the relationships (friendships) of the above 5. And then we got Io and Tsumiki, who are like the perfect couple, but are too shy to admit they have feelings for each other. Oh and did I mention that Tsumiki is a cat? Like whenever Io pats her on the head, she grows cat ears and a :3 mouth.

Of course there are other anime which warm up my heart, but Acchi Kocchi has done it in a way that on only makes me go nya, but also in way that makes me go HHNNNNGGGGGG.

Anime Day 7

September 22nd, 2015

Day 7 – Favorite anime opening theme song

There are hundreds of great anime opening themes songs out there. Starting with EVA and ending with the numerous Manogatari series songs. Even though I would love to mention all the FMA Brotherhood OPs, the Eden of the East, Steins;Gate, both Nichijou OPs, Ping Pong, Love Hina, Chobits…. the list goes on. I am going to go with Tatami Galaxy.

Why? Because not only is this song by Asian Kungfu Generation amazing, but the unique art style also makes this one of the most recognisable and memorable OP in anime history. Of course the show itself is rather niche and not that mainstream, but everyone who has seen it rates it highly, not just cause of the plot and the characters, but because the OP and ED are both top tier level. The chill music, together with the combination of realistic backgrounds and weird art style of the characters make this OP my favourite and I have it on the top of my playlist.

Anime Day 6

Takeo and Yamato

Day 6 – Favorite anime couple

Oh I have a lot of favourites. Such as: Ryuuji and Taiga, Araragi and Senjo, Izaya and Shizuo, Isaac and Miria… etc… But I guess at this point in time I would have to say Takeo and Yamato from Ore Monogatari. Why? Well because their love is genuine and out of pretty much every anime I have seen, this is the only one which focuses about 20 episodes on the relationship after they have become a couple; the hurdles of being in a relationship and the overall satisfaction when overcoming these obstacles. Thats what puts the as my favourite anime couple. Because they are the most realistic one, not over dramatic and crazy, just plain rabu rabu and cute.
